The PourHouse is a rustic, laid-back neighborhood bar and grille located in Mountainhome, PA. It offers a family friendly atmosphere and is a great place to catch up with friends at the bar for a drink. I love how the atmosphere has a rustic and gritty charm from the antlers at the entrance to the woodwork and tin walls and ceilings. I love how comfortable you feel when you walk through the door. This is the perfect type of atmosphere to roll up your sleeves and dig into a juicy burger served in an authentic hubcap or to devour some finger lickin’ wings or ribs!
The hubs and I met up with our friends to have a second go at this restaurant because we enjoyed it so much the first time we ate there. To our surprise, Thursday’s is WING NIGHT! Right up our alley! So of course we ordered wings! First we started out with a flight of beers. Taste testing 4 different kinds… I loved them all. After listening to all the appetizer specials they offered we decided to skip ordering a meal and stick with “pickin’s” (my families coined term for appetizers or tappas). We ordered the steamers with parsley and hot butter sauce and the homemade pretzels wrapped with bacon with spicy brown mustard… OMG! So FREAKIN’ GOOD!
I would definitely recommend you check out their website for some great deals and specials The PourHouse offer… from 25% happy hour drinks, to trivia night, to karaoke and dance parties, and of course live entertainment… The PourHouse has something for everyone!

COSTA RICA! PURA VIDA!! (meaning Pure Life or Full of Life) and that is not an understatement!! 🙂
My trip to Costa Rica with the Hubs was nothing short of amazing! We ate some delicious food throughout our trip. The food is so fresh and all of the food is locally grown and organic!! YUMMY!!! I ate a lot of rice and beans and am actually going through withdrawal now! 🙂 The fish was so fresh and the beef was fantastic. I loved the local salsa so much that I bought some home as well as the dark roasted coffee… PERFECTO!

Grilled pineapple salad with tofu.
Grilled fish and shrimp with capers

For the Hubs and I second honeymoon we took an adventurous and relaxing trip to Costa Rica. We stayed at the Hilton Papagayo Resort and Spa… which I would definitely recommend to anyone!! We loved it so much it was so hard to come back home. We did everything from relaxing at the beach, enjoying the swim up pool bar, checking out the spa and getting an Aloe Vera wrap treatment, hiking in the tropical rainforest, horseback riding, checking out a volcano, snorkeling, cave hiking, exploring the city of Liberia, coffee tasting, taking a river boat ride through the Palo Verde National Park where we spotted crocodiles, monkeys and tropical birds. We also had an adrenalin rush in Buena Vista tubing down a natural spring slide, and zip-lining through the rainforest! Oh not to mention, relaxing in the natural hot springs and getting a rejuvenating volcanic mud treatment. The people there are so incredibly nice… we are already talking about taking a trip back next year to explore all that Costa Rica still has to offer! Here are some pictures of our adventures… ENJOY! 🙂
Until next time,

Delicious is an understatement. For our wedding, friends of ours made us a case of home brewed beer called White Wedding. They have their own little self made home brewery just outside of Scranton, Pennsylvania. They call themselves Blue Husky Brewing Company. Let me tell you they are talented! White Wedding is a dark beer that was Guinness inspired (for moi) and fermented with vanilla beans and aged with Jack Daniels single barrel bourbon (for the Mr.). Everything that the hubs and I love!!! 🙂

A couple nights ago we had a savory dinning experience at Fume Asian Grill. Located in Stroudsburg off of North 9th Street. Fume’s food is always artfully prepared only using the freshest ingredients and an authentic inspired atmosphere. Your food comes out looking so beautiful that you can tell it was handcrafted just for you.
Also, if you are looking for a new Asian dinning experience, Fume offers coupons on their website so you can try some fresh and delicious food while getting a good deal! (Which I know always makes everyone happy!!!) 🙂
Fume Asian Grill was also awarded, The 2013 Greatest Around the Pocono’s award and is a Candidate For The TOP 100 Chinese Restaurants!!!
If you want a new twist on Asian food and sushi that offers fresh, clean, and natural ingredients grab some friends and check out Fume Asian Grill. With a group of 6 or more you can sit at a private table on cushions for an authentic dinning experience!
On Saturday night, the hubs and I went on a double date to a mouthwatering hibachi restaurant called Desaki. Desaki is known to offer a “deliciously dynamic” dinning experience… which it certainly does! Desaki is another great restaurant located close to many Pocono’s attractions. It is located on 611 in Swiftwater and has complimentary shuttle bus service that will travel to and from many area resorts including The Chateau Resort and Mt. Airy Casino! Talk about service and convenience!!!!!:-)
Desaki’s may seem to be a bit pricey when you first glance at the menu, but the food is extraordinary and the “show” that the hibachi chefs put on is so entertaining you almost forget that you are nestled in the Pocono Mountains.
There is so much that Desaki’s offers. I was so happy to find out that they have Bar Specials during the week!!! I will most definitely be dragging the hubs back to check out Desaki’s $0.25 Wednesday Wing specials!!! I feel like a $0.25 wing special is unheard of these days! 🙂 Another awesome feature is you can host your very own event at Desaki, from a girls night out to a sweet 16 to a charity event, all the way to a wedding. Desaki’s Garden Venue will make your dream event a reality!!!
As for my tasti dinning experience went… we were told there was a fifty minute wait… Yes, 5.0.!!!! So we put our party name down and made ourselves comfortable at the bar. 20 minutes later, our buzzer was blinking wildly! Not too bad… I’ll take 20 minutes over 50! By this time I was hungry
enough to eat an elephant!!! I ordered the jumbo sea scallops hibachi dinner, which included edamame, a bowl of traditional Japanese soup, crispy and fresh cut vegetables, fried rice and of course Lo Mein noodles. Everything is prepared in front of you on a giant hibachi cook-top made to order using a unique blend of sauces and spices… like teryaki and garlic! YUMMY!!! ( I am getting so hungry writing the post!)
If you are craving a fun night out and an overall enjoyable dinning experience with flavor check out Desaki’s! There is also some fun events happening at Desaki’s. Tomorrow night, Thursday, February 28th is Ladies Night Out Jewelry Party from 6:30-8:30…which all the proceeds will go to a great cause!!! Check it out at Ladies Night Out

Once a month we try to get together with friends from the Scranton area for dinner and drinks. Last night we all met up at Pocono Brewing Company also known as PBC. It is located on 611 in Swiftwater, PA. It is a great restaurant that has a large beer selection… PBC was actually voted one of America’s Best Beer Bars, by All About Beer Magazine!!! They have over 30 beers on tap and 80+ bottles and what I love about PBC is that they have their own specialty house brews!!!! YUMMY! My favorite is called THE BALL AND CHAIN… 😛 which they were out of last night. 😦 So I opted for the Ithaca Apricot Wheat which is a very smooth easy beer to drink… light and refreshing. Drinking it definitely made me itch for summertime and BBQ’s!
I was so busy enjoying the good company and drinking my 32oz. of summer that I didn’t have time to take many pictures….
